Research Interests
My research focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of functional nanomaterials for sensing, energy, environmental and biomedical applications. I develop nanoparticles that act as reactive oxygen species scavengers or generators. My work also includes the development of semiconductor metal oxide nanoparticle–based gas sensors for noninvasive disease diagnostics. In addition, I study two-dimensional nanomaterials, such as functionalized graphene and MXene, for energy storage systems; magnetic nanocarriers for targeted anticancer drug delivery; and removable magnetic photocatalysts for water purification. I am also interested in the size- and shape-controlled synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles.
