Research Interests
Dr. Ranabir Banik’s research focuses on the structure and excitation mechanisms of atomic nuclei, particularly exploring single-particle and collective excitations near the proton number Z = 50 in nuclei both near stability and on the neutron-rich side. He employs gamma-ray spectroscopy and advanced detector arrays in in-beam nuclear physics experiments conducted at national and international facilities, and investigates neutron-rich nuclei using fission-fragment spectroscopy with state-of-the-art instrumentation. His work aims to deepen understanding of nuclear structure phenomena through experimental studies using sophisticated detector technologies and collaborative research programs.
