Research Interests
My research interests center on Rabindranath Tagore’s travel writings, read through the lenses of geo-criticism, spatial literary studies, and ecocriticism. I am interested in exploring how Tagore’s encounters with places beyond Bengal shape his reflections on space, nature, cultural difference, and humanism. In the realm of colonial and postcolonial Bengali literature, my work examines the relationship between different spaces, environment, and cosmopolitan thought, and how spatial experience becomes a critical mode for reimagining identity, modernity, and the world beyond the nation. I am also interested in the representation of literature through various forms of visual media.
